I’ve had my fair share of trial and error in language learning.
But when I discovered the natural method, learning languages became an enjoyable and exciting journey for me.

Nothing comes out. And worse, you haven’t got the slightest idea of what your Finnish friend is saying.
That’s exactly what happened to me with French.
10 years ago, I spent a few months in Paris working as an au pair. Despite 3 years of French classes and a decent mastery of French grammar, I quickly realised that I did not understand French. At all.
My French family didn’t speak the French I had learned at school. I had used years of my life to learn a language but was unable to communicate with my au pair family. I had to learn the real spoken French.
Luckily, being immersed in the life of a French family surrounded me with French 24/7, I started assimilating the language. Without knowing it, I was using the natural method of learning, and started to understand what my au pair family was saying – and was able to answer them.
You might have been in a similar situation with Finnish.
I’ve now acquired 2 other languages with the natural method without even living in those countries.
Now I'm finally able to use those languages in my everyday life. I have met friends with whom I speak French, Italian, Spanish, English – and Finnish of course!
Speaking languages has made integration in Belgium so much easier. Not only is it easier to take care of life admin and chores in French, but I also feel like I’m part of the Brussels society.
You can achieve this too, and it’s why I started Finnished in the first place!
